Breast are vital to females because they contain mammary glands that secrete milk for the new born baby, and are a vital part of the human anatomy and the reproductive system. The breasts, just like any other organ in the body, are extremely susceptible to cancers and other ailments.

Breast cancer is the leading causes of loss of breasts in woman, and can also occur in males. Even though breast cancer is not fatal and can be treated it can be a frightening experience both physically and emotionally. It can, if not caught early, be fatal due to the spreading of the cancer.

Breast care is vital to the health of the individual and for prevention of amputation. Self examinations and mammograms should be conducted regularly in order to keep checking for any signs of cancer. A healthy diet and regular exercise can help in keeping the breasts healthy.

Symptoms to look for

The main symptom to look for in the breasts is the formation of lumps. Regularly checking your breasts can keep you familiar with areas that have naturally lumps (get them checked though) and can make you more aware of new ones.

Breast cancer is inflammatory and grows in clusters of cancerous cells, typical symptoms include lumps, swelling (especially in the armpits), discharge from the nipples, and pain in the nipple area.

Things you can do to Keep Your Breasts Healthy

  • Brew some tea from red raspberries and drink daily. This tea is rich in antioxidants and can prevent certain cancers.
  • When your breasts feel tender put a leaf or two from the head of a cabbage in between the breast and a bra.
  • Mix cod liver oil, vitamin E, ground bark of white oak, garlic oil to a paste. Apply to sore nipples to help with inflammation.

*Breast cancer should not be taken lightly. We recommend daily or weekly self examinations and regular doctor visits and special visits when noticing a new lump or irregular soreness.
